In Anodot Cost, EDP is displayed as a separate service (with a negative value), while in AWS Cost Explorer the EDP discount is included in the costs per services.
So when comparing S3 vs. S3 for example, if the EDP discount is 10%, the AWS Cost Explorer will display an S3 total that is 10% lower than the EDP shown in Anodot Cost.
To easily find this, access the Cost & Usage Explorer and perform the following steps:
- In the Group By field, select Service.
- Filter by all cost types.
- Switch to the Table view.
The EDP discount is shown as a negative number.
The overall total cost will match that in the AWS Cost Explorer, but for each specific service the cost is different, since Anodot Cost does not include the EDP discount within each service.
